Birmingham, England – August 4, 2025 – In a candid interview recorded just weeks before the passing of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, his son Jack Osbourne shared insights into his distant relationship with his older sister, Aimee Osbourne. The revelation came during a July 16 episode of the Disrespectfully podcast, where Jack, 39, discussed the family dynamics that kept Aimee, 41, out of the public eye and estranged from her siblings.

“We’re not close at all,” Jack admitted, addressing his relationship with Aimee, the eldest daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. “We don’t have a great relationship. She’ll be the first to tell you that, so it’s no secret.” The comments were made days before the family reunited for Ozzy’s funeral on July 31, following his death on July 22 at age 76 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Jack explained that Aimee’s decision to forgo appearing on the family’s groundbreaking MTV reality show, The Osbournes, which aired from 2002 to 2005, stemmed from her desire to carve her own path in the music industry. “Back then, she really wanted to be a musician, and the kind of musician she wanted to be was like a Fiona Apple, Mazzy Star, like this kind of obscure, mysterious, moody [artist],” he said. Aimee viewed participating in the reality show as “low-hanging fruit” and feared it would appear as though she was “riding coat-tails.”
Aimee, who performs under the moniker ARO, moved out of the family home at 16 when filming for The Osbournes began, a decision that created a lasting rift. Jack noted that after the show’s massive success, Aimee “dug her heels in” to maintain her privacy, avoiding the spotlight that propelled her siblings, Jack and Kelly Osbourne, to fame.Despite their estrangement, Aimee joined her family, including Jack, Kelly, and their mother Sharon, at a memorial event in Birmingham, England, to honor Ozzy. The family was seen grieving together at a bench dedicated to the Black Sabbath frontman during a funeral procession, marking a rare public appearance for Aimee.

Photos captured an emotional Sharon, 72, holding hands with her daughters, while Jack and their half-sibling Louis were also present. The Osbourne family’s statement on Ozzy’s passing, signed by Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis, expressed their profound sadness: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”Aimee’s choice to step into the public eye for her father’s funeral highlighted a moment of unity, though Jack’s recent comments suggest that their private relationship remains strained. Kelly Osbourne has also spoken about her lack of connection with Aimee, stating on the Armchair Expert podcast in 2021, “We don’t talk. We’re just really different. She doesn’t understand me, and I don’t understand her.”As the Osbourne family navigates their grief, Jack’s openness about his relationship with Aimee sheds light on the complexities of their bond, even as they came together to honor their father’s legacy.
