JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — November 5, 2025 By Staff Reporter
A quiet suburban neighborhood in Jacksonville was rocked by chaos Tuesday night when local resident Trivis Hunter, 34, allegedly lost control upon discovering explicit messages and photos on his wife’s phone linking her to an unnamed player on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Eyewitnesses described Hunter—unrelated to the team’s rookie sensation Travis Hunter—as “absolutely detonating” in a tirade that shattered windows, overturned furniture, and prompted frantic 911 calls. Police arrived at the couple’s Mandarin-area home around 9:45 p.m. to find Hunter pacing the front lawn, shirtless and screaming profanities about “that overpaid cat in teal.”
“He was like a human firework,” neighbor Maria Gonzalez told reporters. “One minute everything’s calm, next minute—boom!—he’s kicking the grill into the pool yelling, ‘Tell Number 12 his Heisman don’t cover this!'”
Sources close to the investigation say Hunter’s wife, 31-year-old Kayla Hunter, had been exchanging late-night texts and hotel selfies with the Jaguars player for weeks. The affair reportedly began at a team-sponsored charity gala in September, where Kayla volunteered as a server.
“Trivis found the whole thread,” a family friend said on condition of anonymity. “Receipts, voice notes, even a selfie in the locker-room mirror. He just… exploded.”
No arrests were made, but officers issued a domestic-disturbance citation and removed two flat-screen TVs that Hunter allegedly hurled into the street. Kayla Hunter has since checked into an undisclosed hotel with the couple’s two young children.
Jaguars Organization Responds Team officials declined to identify the player but released a brief statement: “The Jacksonville Jaguars are aware of the situation and take matters of personal conduct seriously. We are cooperating fully with any inquiries.”
Head coach Liam Coen, speaking before Wednesday’s practice, sidestepped specifics: “Football’s a family, but some families got drama. Next question.”
Community Fallout By Wednesday morning, #TrivisExplodes was trending locally on X, with memes superimposing Hunter’s furious silhouette over EverBank Stadium. One viral post read: “When you draft a unicorn but forget to lock the stable.”
Marriage counselor Dr. Elena Ramos warned that high-profile affairs can have ripple effects. “NFL glamour meets real life—it’s combustible,” she said. “Trivis isn’t the first husband to feel sidelined by a 4.3 forty.”
The Jaguars (5-3) host the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday. Kickoff is 1:00 p.m.—plenty of time for locker-room side-eyes.
